A very active program of seminars and scientific conferences is offered within the Center for Studies in Reproduction at the University of Maryland. A Biennial Center Symposium is held, in which nationally and internationally recognized scientists in the field of reproductive biology meet with Center investigators to present their recent research findings. An Annual Lectureship in Reproductive Biology, jointly sponsored by the Center and the Division of Reproductive Biology, Johns Hopkins University, in which an internationally recognized expert in the field of reproductive biology visits the Center to interact with faculty and trainees is also held. In addition, formal and informal weekly seminar programs and research forums are held within the Center. Previous seminar speakers include Doctors Joanne Fortune, Melvin Grumbach, Robert Jaffe, Ernst Knobil, John McLachlan, Bert O’Mally, JoAnne Richards, Margaret Shupnik, Evan Simpson, Jean Wilson, and Pentti Siiteri.
